Amazing class with Christy, she is a lovely teacher and a super creative girl, wow! If I tell you before I love the mixed media now I love much more after taken the class with Christy.

Art Journal My first Calendar Page -

Hello friends!
I wrote about Art Journal and/or Smash Book last year (I really liked the two ideas). I have a lot of things to do on this new adventure on my craft life. As a child I always loved to draw and colouring. Also I love the idea of doing a journal (the word in Spanish is "diario")
A long time ago I took drawing and painting classes but didn't finish for personal reasons. Scrapbooking made me explore different ways to do things... and now I'm joining the Mixed Media bandwagon.

I want to start my art journal quickly event though I see this as a calendar... amazing idea!
After I read and saw many links on the topic, I decided to start on January of this year but changed my mind, and I started on December 2011. I want to remember some things that I enjoyed during that month.
This is my first two pages of my Art Journal - Calendar

**I did a collage on Christmas Tree with Scraps**

Supplies: Gesso, Glimmer, Distres Inks, Copic, Scraps,

Flower and Corner Punch, Calendar Page Template.

I started with a lot of blank spaces for that month only writing the most important events, and all that I can still remember, lol!! My main reason to start this journal-calendar is because I went on a Cruise (Dec 26 to January 2).
I hope to learn more and continue to apply the mixed media approach to other such as Scrapbook Layouts, Cards, Canvas, and other creations.
Tomorrow i will take a workshop with Christy Tomlinson so I hope to learn more with this creative lady. She came to Puerto Rico to offer training on Mixed Media on friday to sunday (1-20 to 1-22) at LSS.
Be on the watchout for my new project during the next couple of days as I hope to apply the new techniques.

Today I share with you that I call "Welcome to the Taste of Puerto Rico. If you live outside of our country Puerto Rico you should take the time to visit our enchanted island with beautiful places and an amazing beaches and also with great other places like "El Yunque" (you can go to this website to see more info.about "El Yunque").. don't forget to take the real flavor of puertorrican food. We have a lot of restaurant and other places to test the rich taste of different foods.

A is for... Anything Goes!

Hello friends!
A is for... Anything Goes but is Anything Christmas at ABC Christmas Challenge. Never is too late to create christmas cards before Christmas Season so I really like this challenge because helps to create christmas cards with all the inspirational creations by DT.

This is my card for this challenge. Using an Angel image from May Brit Blog, I used some design paper scraps, cardstock scraps, the Merry Christmas sentiment from Stampin Up, the other sentiment is freebie digital sentiment.. Coloured my image with Prismacolor and Portfolio Pencils. Using stickles (star dust) to look sparkling on some details.

**All supplies are from my stash (the only one is not from my stash is the 2nd sentiment is a freebie)**

New Creation at Lollipop

Hello again!
Yes, is my 2nd post today!... This time I share with you a creation for TMITA at Paper Cupcakes.
This is my first DT Card for 2012 for Paper Cupcakes and Nina May (owner's Paper Cupcakes) share a freebie Paper Cupcakes-Stamps on this challenge, if you want to play with us you don't need a Paper Cupcakes Stamps but this time you have a freebie and the opportunity to win 2 images of your choices if you WIN. Go to http://theresmagicintheair.blogspot.com/ some things changed starting with this challenge.

*For this card I used 3 Design Papers from ColorBok, 4 paper punch: a heart punch, a retro flower punch, branch leaf punch and a scallop border punch. Others: Ribbon, Stickles (star dust) and "azahares"

Sentiment: Paper Cupcakes Stamps (front and inside card)*

I colored with Prismacolors Pencils with pastels colors (my favorite colors) and may be look "Eastery" but is not a easter card.. is a card for someone who has touched your like with some type of kindness or someone that needs some type of encouragement.

I add 3D glue dot for add dimension

I add the front card to a Kraft Cardstock and worked inside with White Cardstock and a piece of design paper with dots and used a scallop border punch.

~New Challenge at Lollipop~

Hello friends!!
Today in Puerto Rico is a official holiday (it has been celebrated on the 2nd Monday of January), Jaime (my hubby) have work (he only have official federal holiday , my daughter is in my house (is unemployed again, just sometimes a famous department store has a job "On Call Work"... she has university studies in Managament and Finance, I hope to get another job soon) and I'm still recovering from the cold.
Hoy en Puerto Rico es un día feriado ( se celebra el 2do lunes del mes de Enero), Jaime (mi esposito) tiene trabajo (solamente tiene días feriados libres que sean federales (que se celebren solo en EU) , mi hija esta en casa (esta desempleada otra vez, solo algunas veces tiene trabajo "On Call Work" (la llaman cuando la necesitan y le dicen dia(s) y/o horarios que tiene para que ella trabaje)... ella tiene estudios universitarios en Gerencia y Finanzas, espero que consiga trabajo pronto) y yo estoy recuperando de mi resfriado (catarro, monga).

I show you my first DT card for 2012, I used a freebie image from May Brit Blog

and a freebie sentiment from Annette Cards

**Tip: For making the Butterflies I used a Butterfly Punch with a Butterflies Design Paper (Colorbök Pastel Garden Papers), cutting butterflies from the paper so look much better. Other thing is if you find a circle dp or a flower dp you cand cut with a punch for the better look and is easy way.**

I used as a NEW thing the design papers (from Colorbök Pastel Garden Papers) and the new beginning a baby girl card. Add touch stitckles (Star Dust). Used Prismacolor Pencils and Doily.

A card without sentiment

Hello fellow friends

The door image is a freebie digi and if I find the name... I will add it later.

Today I show you a card without sentiment that I made before my cruise trip on december.

I have already colouring the image (a door) but I add the touch of stickles (lot of sparkle) and a touch of Glossy Accents (tiny touch on the wreath)

**I take the pictures with my BlackBerry celular sorry is look different.. on the last days before the trip don't have time to take the pictures with my camera and go to computer.**

I used design paper scrap and cardstock scraps (Kraft, White, Green and Red)

After my trip I feel fine but on the 3rd day I feel like cold symptoms... today I feel so bad taking medicine (also bed rest). I have this message to sent so I'm front the computer but feel so sick. I think is the first time I feel sick on this special day. Enjoy your day.

Pensando que es la primera vez que me toca estar enferma en este día tan especial. Disfruten este día.

Comienzo enviando un saludo y los mejores deseos para este nuevo año 2012. Deseo que puedan cumplir sus metas, que se multipliquen sus bendiciones y tengan mucha salud junto a todos sus seres queridos.
Regrese de viaje, me fui junto a mi esposo Jaime en crucero por varias islas del Caribe (St. Thomas, St Maarten, Aruba y Curazao).

Despedimos el año de una manera diferente en alta mar (precisamente hoy fue que regrese de mi viaje)... Wow! momentos interesantes y fabulosos en este viaje y que espero volvamos a repetir. Conocimos nuevas personas, disfrutamos de buena comida variada y diferente incluyendo unos postres deliciosos, de diferentes shows, de la belleza de diferentes islas, pude hacer scrapbooking en este viaje. Por supuesto tome fotos no tantas como antes pues ya tomo en consideración muchas cosas al tomar las fotos.
Regresando al año 2011 no puedo quejarme fue un año fabuloso y en cuestion del tema de Scrapbooking... fue el año que mas tarjetas hice, en que mas retos participe y que pude ganar diferentes de ellos.. muchas veces con premios. Lo principal para mi en cada RETO es el poderme retar yo misma, disfrutar de cada creación que en su mayoria fueron hechas para los "Equipos de Diseños" a los cuales permanezco.... Ya ire poco a poco integrandome a mis creaciones.
En Puerto Rico a diferencia de EU y no se cuales otros paises las fiesta de navidad continua ya que pronto se celebra el dia de Los Tres Reyes Magos, una tradición puertorriqueña que se celebra en grande. Los niños buscan pasto (grama) en una cajita para dejarlas para los camellos donde vienen los Reyes Magos. Asi que la noche previa "La vispera de Reyes" todo aquel niño que desea que le traigan regalos hace esto que les cuento aqui luego al otro día buscan sus regalos.

Today I want to show you a layout using a sketch from Frosted Designs "Sketch Along Tuesday - Sketch #30"

I love this sketch and inspire me to do this page:

** I used Kraft Cardstock, digital tag, the diploma is another digital image for a real diploma (I chose made the diploma with Kraft Cardstock), I made a flower with Retro Flower Punch, add beads/gems, prima flowers, the key is a digital image found online.

Used borders punch from Martha Stewart.

The butterfly found online and I add stickles (star dust) and in the center glossy accents with stickles.

I painted the doilies, the key and the background design paper with Glimmer Mist and Shimmer Spritz. Used more than 2 design paper. A ribbon that have a word "Congratulations".

Others: Ribbon (beige with a gold line), lace, pearls, color box ink (Brown and Paprika colours) and a butterfly (found online)

On my last layout (you can see here) and on this layout I used photos of a special occasion for my daughter, finished her major on Finance (she have another mayor on Management.)

To celebrate the occasion we went to a restaurant (she love mexican food) and al of usl enjoy that date.

So she Celebrate LIFE... because LIFE is Beautiful.

Magical Monday - Bird Image!!

Today is a Magical Monday at TMITA with Paper Cupcakes. This will be our last challenge of the year. and We (DT) will be taking a two week break.
This week I (Nina May) bring you the last challenge for 2011 for Paper Cupcakes. The challenge is anything goes with style or design, BUT your image has to incorporate a bird of some type.
This week again Nina brings to you a free image "Welcome Winter" from Paper Cupcakes Stamps, please go here.
I try to do a very simple card... I start for coloured my image using Prismacolor and Portfolio Pencils, adding touch of stickles "Star Dust". Using some scrap paper and add ribbon (made a bow) and adding to a button.. I think is very clean and simple.
The Bird, the light lamp and the pine tree also all 3 are 3d to make dimension on this card.

So for my inspiration my focus was on Reindeer, the christmas colours (red and green) including the brown colours tones and the poinsetta leaves

Hello!
Today is my last DT creation for Alphabet Challenge.. I appreciate the help of Lesley and working with her and my others DT friends on this group.
This is my creation for this fortnight at ALPHABET CHALLENGE BLOG and this time is W for White Christmas. I try to do a white christmas card but is not easy... my country is a Tropical Island on the Caribbean never have a snow season.
**This challenge will be running for 3 weeks to cover the Christmas period, so the next challenge will be on Friday 30th December.**

I used a Elizabeth Dulemba image, a cute penguin. I coloured with my Prismacolor and Portfolio Pencils, little touch of Stickles (Star Dust)

Vintage and/or Shabby Chic Xmas Card

Magical Monday again at TMITA with Paper Cupcakes!... This week is Sonia (me, lol!) that bring the challenge. I would like that you make a Vintage and/or Shabbic Chic Christmas card/project.
For this card I used the Paper Cupcakes Stamps "You Melt My Heart" (this image have two penguins) and for inspirations I create my card with a photo inspiration.

This penguins couple my husband Jaime bought (thinking in us) on our last year Maryland trip. We visited to Ellicot City (History Ellicot City)... Jaime always told me about this place because he was visited on other years before we met. One of his daughter lived near this city. I love all the stores on this city... all look vintage and sells a lot of things.

Some this store sell like a fleamarket but I never see a lot of this antique stores, wow! I seen a store with 3rd or 4th you got a believe me.

Esta pareja de pinguinos la compro mi esposo Jaime (pensando en nosotros) cuando viajamos a Maryland el año pasado. Nosotros visitamos "Ellicot City" (Ciudad Historica de Ellicot). Jaime siempre me hablo de este lugar porque el lo visitado antes de conocernos. Una de sus hijas vivio cerca de este lugar. Me encantaron todas las tiendas en esta ciudad.. todas con un estilo antiguo que venden muchas cosas. Algunas de estas tiendas venden como un "pulguero" (estas son mucho mejor y diferentes de lo que habia visto antes en PR) nunca habia visto tantas tiendas antiguas asi, wow!

Llegue a ver y visite una tienda que tenia como 3 ó 4 pisos, tienes que creerlo.

**Handmade flower**

I made the flower using the Retro Punch (2 flowers) and coloured with shimmers then I add a Prima flower Finally I add more Retro Punch (3 flowers) (different sizes) coloured with Shimmers. Also adding a pearl.

Hello!
I show you a card I made for a special person on the Thanksgiving Day.... Every time we take the time to be thankful and is the perfect season to do this.
She is a super nice lady that is taking care my mother in law on night on a week, so I made a card with a sentiment of THANK YOU from Paper Dreams of Mine

I used a freebie sentiment: Thank you

This cute image "Harvest Bella" is from: Inked Treasures

I coloured with my Prismacolor and Portfolio Pencils

I used scraps to do my Card, flowers, buttons, ribbons and stickles "star dust" (all from my stash),

Today's card is for the new challenge set over at Alphabet Challenges and this fortnights theme is V for Very Vibrant, for my DT card I have used a freebie found online and a "spanish" sentiment Feliz Navidad = Merry Christmas (computer generated). Coloured with my Prismacolor and Portfolio Pencils.

I used a Martha Stewart punch

The punch made embossing too.

I made a christmas card again this time with emo fairy image dressed for Christmas from Just Some Lines

For made my DT Card I used a sketch from Willow Sketchie Challenge

I rotated the sketch, cut the 2 corner with round punch on 2 of card corner on the different side of the image.

I used some design paper Scraps from my stash, Bazzill cardstock scraps for the courner of my card add buttons.

Also I add a ribbon and made a bow.
